Hey guys its been a pretty cool journey through the growing process of these cubes. I am a beginner, and 2 days ago i dunked and rolled and put em in my SGFC for fruiting. Been mist/fanning 3-5 times daily and givin the cakes a 12/12 hour light cycle with a 6500k CFL light. I just need experts advice on hyphal knots. Check out my 2 cakes, are those hyphal knots? and if so, i should expect pins soon right? and to harvest, wait till after the veils break on the mushies, and how will i know when each flush is finished since there will always be aborts?

You are doing good bro!!! But give it 5-7 days before seeing pins, sometimes it can be sooner (or longer). Did you allow the cakes to sit a week after full colinization? What strain are you using?

Had to early birth cuz one of the cakes fell out of the jar. its been about a month and a half colonizing though. it was definately 100% though but i didnt give the full week of consolidation, maybe a few days. I'm using the PF classic amazonian strain from hawk eye spores

Ahh I see, give it 4-5 days... Your conditions are looking good from what I can tell. 1/4 inch holes every 2 inches on all 6 sides? 4+ inches of Perlite? Humidity is good. I'd say your on the right track! Its kind of a guessing game... but when the first little white bumps pop up, Your good to go!

Yeah looks like myc growth coming through your verm which is a good sign. If they start making knots you'll know what they are when you see them. Well if you've them before anyway. =P
Looking awesome though! But how did one cake "fall" out of the jar? lol

You should take that hygrometer out of your chamber. I have the same one and it's super chinsy. The sensor will get clogged up and stay at 99%, so it won't be giving you an accurate measure of your humidity. Might as well have an accurate view of the RH of you room instead of an inaccurate view of the RH in your tub.

Yeah I think im good on perilite if i can read 99%. ive been spraying the walls of the FC and the perilite 3-5 times every day while indirectly giving cakes a bit of mist. i then fan.

lol my anxious ass decided to open the jar to smell for contams and i set it back down flipped without the rim that seals the lid on. as soon as i grabbed the jar next time the cake flopped out so i emergency dunked and birthed. the cake didn't experience any pain though. no fall. kinda flopped out on top of my SGFC. so thats good.

Why didn't you wait until your cakes were fully colonized before putting them in your FC? I'm not knocking you, just interested in the reasoning/results with this method.

Because the incubation period was taking extremely long, like something was wrong. But I know FOR SURE there was no contams. i finally birthed the jar after a month and a half and noticed 2 of the jars had huge uncolonized portions still. i did the sterile knife method cut out the uncolonized portions on one of the cakes and for the second one i salvaged purposely just to check to contams. broke it open, in half, looked all over for contams but all it was, was stalled mycellium. because the whole inside except the uncolonized portion was healthy white mycellium. but back to my cake, hyphal knots? lookin good?
(all 4 cakes were completely colonized when birthed except for the two with uncolonized stalled portions)
Edit - Unportionized sections could be caused by an overheat by a heating mat. 100F for 14 hours, ouch.
